Aaand...I'm Back!

Well hello! What’s new with you? Have you had a nice summer? Life on this end is swell. This summer we have survived heat waves, an earthquake, and a hurricane. We are tough!
So here I go, picking up the old blog again. Actually, this blog is not old at all. Less than a year, in fact! Yet I have neglected it in the way that one neglects an old, floppy, grungy pair of sneakers. Sorry, blog. I didn’t mean to treat you like old sneakers. Let’s hug and be friends again.
Believe it or not, I have over a dozen posts waiting in the wings. No really! It’s true! I get oodles of ideas regarding things to write about and whip up rough drafts, but somehow never get around to actually posting. What gives?
I haven’t quite figured out what it is. It probably has something to do with “Procrastinatey Self.” (P.S. I realize that “procrastinatey” is not a word, but I like it all the same.) Procrastinatey Self and I don’t get along very well. I would introduce you, but she’s not really someone that you want to be acquainted with. She’s kind of a pain.
For instance, Procrastinatey Self encourages me to watch dumb shows on Netflix rather than do the million other things that I want to do like bake muffins, work on a scrapbook that is about a year overdue, touch up the paint marks on the ceiling from a paint roller that went rogue last summer, or clear out my magazine pile. Or update my blog, for crying out loud!!! You get the picture. Procrastinatey Self. She’s a crazy chick. She is cunning and lurks in dark corners, waiting to pounce and rudely shove “Productive Self” out of the way. Oh those two. Drama. Lots of drama. And they always put me in the middle of it!
This is all my little way of saying that I haven’t been blogging much. Or hardly any. Or...not at all. If my blog had a soundtrack, the soundtrack would be crickets chirping. Or a fly buzzing lazily in the air on a hot, hot day. Let’s just say that I was on summer vacation even though I really wasn’t, mm-kay?
But I want to give it another go! So come on, Productive Self, let’s do this thing!

By the way, I'm pretty sure that Productive Self looks something like this. She is a superhero of sorts. She wears red tights and blue boots and somehow pulls it off. Productive Self, you’re awesome, and I look forward to employing your assistance in the weeks/months to come.

My procrastinatey self would love to go to a movie with your procrastinatey self! That is a great idea. Way to go on your deployment project list! Can't wait to see pics of everything that you've been working on.
